Again, this blog blows me away with how powerful her words are and how dead on she is - I know what that absolute misery and indignation at the world feels like. Its what I felt sitting, sobbing next the candy shop at gate B6 in BWI. Its hard to explain what its like to watch people buy Sour Patch Kids by the pound while chatting on their IPhone after you have just put your husband on a plane to go fight a war.

I know exactly what you mean... I was working at the high school the other day when my hubby called from Afghanistan. I was standing in the hallway with dozens of kids romping, screaming, talking on their cell phones, while he was describing (in rather graphic detail) what happened to several soldiers who sacrificed their lives recently. I felt like it was an out-of-body experience. I was lost in the phone call and in my emotions -- it was like I was floating -- and these kids had no clue what is being sacrificed for them each and every day...
Praying for our husbands safe return. Almost a year down, only a few more months to go...

Looking forward to all being able to meet and enjoy being two normal couples together (with Montgomery of course) one day.
Being an Army wife period is a surreal experience. My husband just got back from a 14 month tour...nothing was normal about it and things still aren't back to normal.
